Description
Up for auction is an extremely rare Soul/ Jump R&B 78RPM record from around 1954 for the cuts "Perfidia" and "Piano-Player-Play-A-Tune" as recorded by Lorraine Ellis on the Gee label.
This is indeed the first release on the GEE label and is Gee Catalog number GG 1.
Ms. Ellis is backed by the legendary vocal/doo wop group, The CROWS (though the only credit is to "Lorraine Ellis with Ray Barrow and His Orchestra" on "Perfidia" and "Piano-Player-Play-A-Tune", which proved to be an excellent collaboration!
This rare 78 is in solid VG+ condition with minimal scratches or scuffs. Very minimal surface noise is heard. The labels are extremely well preserved. This is a rare single and is definitely hard to come by in condition this well preserved.
This 78RPM record would be ideal for fans of rare soul, doo wop, and early 50's Jump/ R&B!
