LOS PSICODELICOS XOCHIMILCAS -- Same -- hard to find, original 1968 U.S. album. Los Xochimilcas were a much-loved Latin novelty band in the 1960s. This, by far their best LP, features lovably deranged and mostly instrumental Latin covers of current hits including The Rolling Stones' "Get Off of My Cloud" (!!), The Beatles' "Girl" and "I Should Have Known Better" etc.. The LP's absolutely essential track -- and one of the most out-there Latin garage songs I've ever heard -- is their insane interpretation of "Susie Q" which sounds something like a wigged-out Mexican version of The Kingsmen circa "Louie Louie" with drunken accordion, sloppy vocals and more.
