Description
LOU DONALDSON Sextet
Vol.,2
Kenny Dorham (tp) Matthew Gee (tb) Lou Donaldson (as) Elmo Hope (p) Percy Heath (b) Art Blakey (d)
Rudy Van Gelder Studio, Hackensack, NJ, August 22, 1954 Original BLUE NOTE TEN INCH Lp pressing, #5055,
Blue & White Label, Double Sided Deep Groove, and with the Lexington Ave address, "RVG", "9M" and the EAR stamped in the dead wax, no INC no "R", Made in USA.
FLAT Lip Edge! Made in USA 1954.
The vinyl shows some light scuffs and surface checking visually, but that doesn't seem to affect play, it plays with very little noticeable surface noise at all, sounds near mint, a very clear and loud pressing. No loud ticks. Looks VG+, plays NM.
The cover has just a hint of ring wear on the front and back paste-on, which is slightly yellowed with age, very light edgewear on the bottom, a quarter inch split at the bottom opening, writing on the back in pen, NM- (see pictures).
