Description

LOU DONALDSON “Wailing With Lou” RVG, DG, P, BLP 1545 mono Vinyl

This is 1957, RVG-etched, Deep Groove, Frame Cover, Flat Rim, “P” pressing of LOU DONALDSON’s “Wailing With Lou” on the "47 West 623rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 1545. Musicians include Lou Donaldson, Donald Byrd, Herman Foster, Peck Morrison, Art Taylor.

FLAT RIM VINYL plays with consistent medium to loud level surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with occasional pops and ticks (some repeating). But ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. Loud repeating tick (app 30 seconds), Side 2, #1, which creates three skips. Some trumpet "tizz." 90% distortion free. No skips. No locked grooves. Good gloss. Many hairline marks, 8 feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove "47 West 63rd New York 23” labels show aging, wear, fading and spindle marks. See photos.

FRAME COVER is in good shape. Shows normal wear, corners worn. Seams and spine show cracking, lower seam 2” split at opening. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 47 West 63rd New York 23” back jacket shows aging, pencil writing, ring-wear. Please see photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system including Kuzma turntable and Hana EL cartridge. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC MACHINE. .
