Description

LOUIS ARMSTRONG PLAYS WC HANDY –
Columbia CL 591 - 6-eye Original –
VERY RARE!

Here, Satchmo, the master of jazz trumpet and jazz singing, interprets the music of “the Father of the Blues,” Mister W. C. Handy.

An extraordinary album, with selections YELLOW DOG BLUES, LONG GONE, OLE MISS, CHANTEZ-LES BAS, BEALE STREET BLUES, and LOVELESS LOVE, among others.

This is the original 6-eye release, in the Great Jazz Composers Series at Columbia: Cover like new, record within shows very little sign of play.  Could be mint.

For other fine records, TAS picks and hard-to-finds, please see my complete list of offerings here on eBay.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
