USA SECOND PRESSING RED 1858 BROADWAY NY ELEKTRA LABEL VINYL LP. Elektra's albums were being pressed by Columbia at this time and very fine mastering was taking place, this record sounds superb, if you can't run to a near mint first pressing this will make a very satisfactory audiophile item instead.
MATRIX NUMBERS IN RUN-OFF GROOVES: SIDE A: EKS-74001A-1A T / SIDE B: 74001B-1A T.
A note about Columbia first pressings: Columbia used XSM, MAL and consecutive numbers for each side, or PAL and PBL prefixes for sides 1 and 2 of their albums, followed by A and B suffixes for the Santa Maria, Ca. pressing plant, C and D for Terra Haute, In. and E and F for Pitman N.J. Six (or more) sets of lacquers were usually cut for any big-name artist, so the very first mastering would be 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, and 1F.
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT MINUS, VERY CLEAN BUT DOES HAVE LIGHT SHELF AND EDGE WEAR, CORNER EDGE CUT (POSSIBLY A PROMO) AND STEREO STICKER ON SPINE AS SLEEVE HAS THE ORIGINAL EKL-4001 (MONO) ALBUM NUMBER, CLEARLY INDICATING THAT ON THE SECOND RUN THEY WERE USING FIRST ISSUE SLEEVES FROM STOCK AND STICKERING UP THE STEREO COPIES ACCORDINGLY.
DISC: NEAR MINT. SUPER CLEAN VINYL WITH NO MARKS OR SCRATCHES AND NO NOTICEABLE SPINDLE WEAR. PLAYS AS GOOD AS YOU WILL GET FOR A 19660S ALBUM IN 2012.
