Description
RUTH ETTING sings two songs from her starring role in the 1928 Ziegfeld stage production of "WHOOPEE!" :
"LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME" and "I'M BRINGING A RED RED ROSE."
"Love Me" was a massive hit and eventual evergreen standard, a "torch" ballad forever associated with Miss Etting. It was the eventual title song of her 1955 movie biography, starring DORIS DAY as Ruth. This 1928 record is iconic.
This original 1928 "Viva-Tonal" Columbia 1680-D is in fine EE- condition; a few scratches, negligible wear.
