Description
I am parting with some of my treasured LPs. Here's a 1969 first PRESSING of ARTUR LEE AND LOVE'S 5th LP OUT HERE. This DOUBLE LP sounds great. It was recorded in a warehouse with musicians who hadn't recorded with Lee before. What came out of those recording sessions were released on this LP as well as the amazing FOUR SAIL LP that preceded this one. Lee takes control on these 2 LPs, playing lead guitar, piano, congas, harmonica, rhythm guitar, as well as singing. Both FOR SAIL and OUT HERE were psych LPs that grew out of a garage band mentality. But, one look at the cover shows you the kind hippie psychedelia they were in. FOUR SAIL AND OUT HERE would be the final works produced by Lee in the 60's, and they do not disappoint. FOUR SAIL was an LP that completed Lee's contract with Elektra. This LP, OUT HERE is on the great BLUE THUMB LABEL. One last reason this is an essential LP is that Jimi Hendrix plays on the 9th track, "The Everlasting First".
This is the first pressing of this LP with the first LP having side A and Side D, and the second record having side B and side C.
This is a great playing copy. The vinyl is clean and glossy, and it plays great with no background sound. Vinyl is a M- with No pops, skips, or background noise..It's the first RED LABEL WITH BIG WHITE "E". The Labels have no spindle marks at all. The cover is beautiful, as this LP is usually seen with a worn cover. And the inside gatefold is also in beautiful condition. The spine is perfect with just a tiny touch of rubbing at the corners. A fantastic copy of this LP. See my grading guidelines below.
It's a very beautiful playing copy. A wonderful addition to any collection.
I love original pressings because I feel every LP is of it's time and place. The vinyl, and record pressings are all from that moment in time, and no re-pressing or re-mastering will ever make the sound better for me. PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER LPS FOR SALE NOW ON EBAY. I AM POSTING SOME TREASURES. SOME ARE RARE AND COLLECTIBLE, AND OTHERS ARE JUST GREAT ALBUMS LIKE THIS ONE IS.
SS = (STILL SEALED) The record itself is in brand new condition, assumed never to have been played.
M = (MINT) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet,
booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
M - = (MINT MINUS) MINT- is not MINT but is very close to it, near new, there might be a blemish or two, but overall record and jacket are like new or very close to new.
EX = (EXCELLENT) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight
wear and / or creasing.
VG = (VERY GOOD) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the
occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
G = (GOOD) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and
contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
F = (FAIR) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will
be torn, stained and / or defaced.
P = (POOR) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
B = (BAD) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler
We also use + or - to adjust grades in between, so...this scopes out to: SS/M/M-/EX+/EX/EX-/VG+/VG/VG-/G+/G/F/P/B
