Description
This is a very good original U.S. pressing copy of the fifth LP, and first on the Blue Thumb label, by L.A. group Love, released in late 1969. Featuring the same line-up as their prior LP, Four Sail, and released within months of it, this record is a more varied affair, with rockers like "Stand Out," "I'm Down," and a supercharged remake of "Signed D.C." from their debut; the gospel-like album opener, "I'll Pray for You"; songs that recall the delicacy of the group's landmark Forever Changes (notably "Listen to My Song"); and a couple of extended tracks, one of which features an long guitar workout. It's a mixed bag, but the highlights measure up to Love's best work. The gatefold jacket's flaws are mainly around the edges: splits in both top seams (5” and 2½”), and corner, spine, and seam wear. There is also a small tear on the front cover, and light staining inside the gatefold. Overall VG(+). The discs have some scraping, scuffing, and loss of glossiness, and play with light surface noise and some light crackling (VG+).
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
