COMPLETE WITH THE TWO ORIGINAL POLY-LINED HARVEST COMPANY INNER SLEEVES
This set marked a couple of firsts for Love - Not only was 'Out Here' their initial foray away from Elektra but it would be their only double-LP package.
After the relative failure of Forever Changes (1968), co-founder Arthur Lee (vocals/rhythm guitar) disbanded the unit and then re-formed with Frank Fayad (bass), George Suranovich (drums), Jay Donnellan (lead guitar), and Gary Rowles (lead guitar).
The results -- unquestionably a mixed bag -- present listeners with evidence of the combo's increasingly heavier approach, as well as a few selections that hearken back to the lighter whimsy of the earlier ensemble.
The latter circumstance is clearly demonstrated, ranging from the acoustic introspection of "Listen to My Song," to the full-blown group jam on the 11-plus minute "Love Is More Than Words or Better Late Than Never" featuring Rowles' inspired electric fretwork

LABELS: NEAR MINT
Clean, bright and unmarked labels which have lost none of their strong vibrant colour and have just a few light spindle traces
VINYL Visual: EXCELLENT++
Apart from some wispy brush marks to the vinyl surfaces both records are unmarked and shine like-new
VINYL Audio: EXCELLENT++
Sensational sound with Arthur Lee's trademark production - very up-front with everything turned up to 11 - even the acoustic tracks/instruments are recorded with the mic placed so close to the strings the reverb is practically distorted but all this gives the record a real presence and immediacy which is superb.
On my play-check at loud volume I noted just a few intermittent clicks throughout the course of all four sides and the slightest touch of surface between some of the tracks (all very minor in my opinion) - but there are no scratches, no signs groove-wear or distortion and no other audible imperfections present - the set sounds absolutely sensational and plays beautifully throughout
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT
Good and solid with a deep glossy sheen to the outer laminated surfaces and a clean interior but there is some 'ring' to the front and back and 'feathering' to the opening edge, nothing too major, still a fine example
INNER SLEEVES: EXCELLENT
Both original Harvest inners are unmarked with no seam splits and only the nigh-on inevitable age-related discolouration to the glue used to fix the poly-lining
