Lovely copy of the rare 1966 true first pressing of Love’s self-titled debut LP in mono, on Elektra EKL-4001. Original gold labels and the super rare original matte cover. Just at this time, in mid 1966 Elektra started printing their covers with a semi glossy process, but some of earliest copies of this album are still in the slightly different non-gloss covers. Anyhow it looks cooler, in my opinion. This copy is really a nice one. The disc does have some scuffs and light marks, but not much, and nothing that affects the play. The whole thing plays just about perfectly and stunningly beautifully. Really a great playing copy. Not the slightest pop or tick. Maybe only the tiniest crackle between a couple of songs but barely that even. Just a beautiful player. And the mono version sounds so punchy and powerful. The cover has some wear, but not too bad. A name is written on the right edge near the top, and there are some scuffs and light stains, as well as corner rubbing and some edge wear in spots. Still it is quite a striking cover with no ringwear and no seam splits. Really this is a fantastic copy. Hard to beat.
