I bought this LP new in December 1969.


Cover - Shrink on.  Bit of sticker (price tag?) residue, upper right.  Corner and perimeter bumps.  Bottom open end corner has crease.  Small yellowish stain on back cover, upper left.  No writing, no splitting.


Vinyl - Some rubs, some light marks.


Sleeve - Original Reprise paper with pictures.  One of Jack Nitzsche.  2 inch split in middle of one side.  I’ll put the vinyl in a clear plastic sleeve and leave the paper sleeve empty, outside the cover.

I believe this to be a1965 pressing.  Does NOT have all the song titles on front cover.  Does have “A Pye Records, U. K. Recording” above MONO at bottoms on both labels.


Even as late as 1969 you could find hugely discounted records if you wanted to haunt the discount, drug, food stores.  Flip through 50-200 or more records nobody would want and sometimes find a gem like this.


The song lineup for Side 1 is printed differently on the back cover.  The lineup is correct on the label.


Outstanding copy of Kinks early songs.  Here is “A Well Respected Man” just as you’d hear it on AM Mono radio when it debuted.  Toss in “Who’ll Be The Next In Line” and a cover of “Louie Louie” and it’s a must-have.  Even the unfamiliar songs turn out to be Kinks masterpieces.  1964 and 1965 guitar spots spit out and grab you.  Ray gives us some harmonica on “It’s Alright” and it’s a blast.
