Morningstar - White Dove
Creative Sound CSS 1591 - USA - 1978 - LP/12"/33RPM
Often a surreal dream-like quality led by songwriter Gary Ingersoll’s moody penetrating vocals, with equally moody keyboards (Fender Rhodes, Moog synthesizer and Omni Arp String Ensemble) breathing gently in the background, while piano, guitar (both acoustic and electric) and female backing vocals fill out the sound. ‘Eyes On You’ especially has an eerie mysterious vibe to it that could easily land Morningstar the “folk/psych” tag. Same for the ballad ‘Forever’ with its soft phased electric guitar and mellotron-like keys. Other titles include ‘Change Me’, ‘John And James’, ‘Morning Star’, ‘Hosea 6:3’ and ‘Eyes Of The Lord’. Magical.

Insgesamt ein absolut erfreuliches Exemplar.
