I bought this LP new in July 1973.
Cover - Shrink on. Cutout slit in lower spine. Price tag on shrink. “472” written on price tag. No other writing, no splitting. Very little shelving/handling evidence.
Vinyl - Some rubs.
Sleeve - Original Atlantic paper with other album pix. Corresponding cutout slit.

The “G” as a cursive capital G, is more evident on side 2.
Mott hits hard with “Death May Be Your Santa Claus”. Nice remake of “Darkness Darkness.” The rest are a terrific variety of Mott The Hoople music.
The PR in the runout and on the labels indicates a Presswell plant pressing from 1972. The 1841 address on the labels contribute to the belief that this is a first US pressing.
The GP must mean George Piros was the mastering engineer for this album. Look him up. Quite a lot of info on him, and all of it points to a superb engineer.
