What you have here is a VERY rare LP In Near Mint condition by David Bowie called 'Hunky Dory' and is an ORIGINAL 1971 UK 1st Pressing with the LAMINATED SLEEVE and on the 1st Press GLOSSY RCA label!!!!
This LP is often referred to as David Bowie's rarest album (rarer then the Deram album, or the Philips album) and here is why:
When this album was first released in 1971 it sold very poorly, and then deleted, becoming one of the rarest Bowie albums to find, it wasn't until September 1972 (when David Bowie had a bit more success) that this album was re-released, and the 1972 issue is the common one you see a lot, but that issue was completely different to the 100% original 1971 issue I have here, and here is how you can tell a true original 1971 FIRST PRESSING of this rare album:
The first thing you will notice is the cover is LAMINATED, and is also thicker and of much higher quality (only 100% true original 1971 first pressing had the laminated cover!!!), the second thing is the LABELS ARE SHINY (later ones were matt), and also have a different LABEL CREDIT for publishing and also there is NO MAINMAN credit anywhere on the sleeve, or labels, were as on the second pressing you will find MAINMAN credits, so you can tell this is a true original 1971 LAMINATED SLEEVE, and correct 100% original vinyl and even the lyrics insert bears the same credits as the first press vinyl, and sleeve !!!
So a quick re-cap: What you have here is a NEAR MINT 100% original 1971 first pressing of David Bowie's Hunky Dory album with the GLOSSY SLEEVE, GLOSSY LABELS, NO MAINMAN CREDIT, AND FIRST ISSUE ORIGINAL PUBLISHING CREDITS, with the FIRST PRESS ORIGINAL INSERT, you will not find a better copy of this rare album any time soon
