Parachute is the fifth studio album by the English rock band The Pretty Things. Released in 1970, it is a significant and often-overlooked work that bridges the band's psychedelic past with a more progressive, harder rock sound. It was produced by Norman Smith, who famously engineered early Beatles recordings and worked with Pink Floyd, and his touch is evident in the album's rich, layered production.

The album is thematically divided into two distinct halves. The first side consists of a psychedelic suite of shorter, interconnected songs that have a more pastoral and mellow feel, often with acoustic elements, lush vocal harmonies, and a dreamlike quality.
