Description
LP VINYL ALBUM LED ZEPPELIN II RED PLUM LABEL 1969 UK 3RD PRESSING
Owned from new and coming from a large private collection this mega rare 3rd issue was the last press using the original Red and Plum Atlantic Labels, has the Killing Floor credit on the label as opposed to the The Lemon Song on the cover track listing, and Livin' Lovin' Maid (She's a Woman) listed on the sleeve but as 'Livin' Lovin' Maid (She's Just a Woman) on the label.
All my vinyls are graded against the industry recognised Record Collector ratings guide.
The key details are as follows:-
Vinyl - Rated overall as Excellent, very clean and with the absolute minimal 'pops' and background noise throughout. Being critical, the only track which has any popping (and this is minimal) is B5 Bring It On Home. Absolute minimal hairline markings - a first class copy.
The labels are in superb condition, the colours remain vibrant and the lettering crystal. No pen marks etc.
Matrix numbers are A//6 V 420 11 21 and V B//4 unreadable numbers 1 1. Please note the 'V' is actually an upside down triangle symbol.
Play tested on high end Technics 1210 record deck with great quality output and no skips or jumps.
Cover - The original cover is rated as Very Good. Displaying some clear signs of wear and tear to the front cover (please refer to photos where areas of imperfections are displayed). General shelf wear is evident to the lower and upper edges as expected in line with age. Again the back of the gatefold cover has some ageing damage to the lower area and a 'MEMRYDISCS' stamp to the upper right corner.
Inner Gatefold cover remains in an excellent condition overall with a couple of paper fusing marks and minor blemishes. The inner right sleeve displays the updated Atlantic catalogue number K40037 sticker.
The original white record poly-liner remains intact and in excellent condition for age. The white element shows full discolouring to off brown but again totally in line with the age and materials used at the time of release. The Patent number is 800513 & 973939.
As with all my sales the record and sleeve will be carefully packaged and mailed in a record liner. To protect and prevent transport damage to original liners the vinyl will be removed from the original liner and placed in a new clear liner. The cover and record will then be placed into a clear 12" vinyl protector wallet and packed accordingly.
This really is an excellent opportunity to purchase a quality Led Zeppelin recording in great condition at a sensible starting price.
Thanks for taking the time to look.
