Description
RCA Records Living Stereo seven disc boxed set LSC 6902, with shaded dog label discs, pressed in the US. Stampers are 11s 6s, 6s 6s, 4s 1s, 3s 1s, 7s 15s, 1s 1s, 15s 17s.
"8 Great Symphonies" with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Charles Munch and Pierre Monteux (curiously, the picture on the cover of the box shows Erich Leinsdorf, but there are no Leinsdorf recordings in this set!). Symphonies by Beethoven (#3), Mendelssohn (#4 & #5), Brahms (#1 & #4), Franck, and Tchaikovsky (#5 & #6). See pics for program details.
These recordings were not remastered for this set. They have the same matrix numbers as the original issues. This is why the earlier titles have higher stamper numbers. A superb set, and quite rare, especially in nice condition.
Discs NM-, just some superficial sleeve marks which should not affect play, box VG+, insert included.
