Description
Up for auction is an old German TELEFUNKEN (cat. number BLE 14116) vinyl pressing of LUDWIG HOELSCHER (violoncello) and HANS ALTMANN (piano). Side 1 is Frédéric Chopin's sonata for piano and violoncello in g-minor (op. 65). Side 2 is Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's sonata for violoncello and piano No. 1 in B-flat (op. 45).
The record COVER is in VG condition with a number of creases to the front panel and light yellowing/staining to the back panel. Furthermore there's NO unwanted writing, NO tears, NO seam splits.
The beautiful violet/gold TELEFUNKEN LABELS are both in MINT condition!
Although the RECORD still looks rather shiny and new (there's only one faint mark on Side 1) and could visually be graded as NEAR MINT- it plays with a fair amount of background noise throughout. I will therefore grade this rare album as VG(+) only. The background noise does not overshadow the beautiful music on this album though. If you're looking for an EXCELLENT to MINT copy of this album this one here is not for you!
The album will be mailed to the lucky winner in a stiff record box with extra cardboard stiffeners for best possible protection! The experience and fun of buying records on eBay is ruined if you discover that – once the album arrives – they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I try to describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging. Please see my excellent feedback especially in terms of packaging! My records are also from a smoke- and pet-free home.

MINT: The Record Itself Is In Brand New Condition With No Surface Marks Or Deterioration In Sound Quality. The Cover And Any Extra Items Such As The Lyric Sheet, Booklet Or Poster Are In Perfect Condition. Records Advertised, As Sealed Or Unplayed Should Be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The Record Shows Some Signs Of Having Been Played, But There Is Very Little Lessening In Sound Quality. The Cover And Packaging Might Have Slight Wear And / Or Creasing.
VERY GOOD: The Record Has Obviously Been Played Many Times, But Displays No Major Deterioration In Sound Quality, Despite Noticeable Surface Marks And The Occasional Light Scratch. Normal Wear And Tear On The Cover Or Extra Items, Without Any Major Defects, Is Acceptable.
