LXT 5078 DECCA MISCHA ELMAN MOZART VIOLIN CONC’ NOS 4/5
This is a great opportunity to acquire extremely rare test pressings of Decca LXT 5078 - Decca’s recording by Mischa Elman of the Mozart Violin Concerto’s No.4 in D major (K218) and No.5 in A major (K219). The orchestra is the New Symphony Orchestra conducted by Josef Krips. The recording is mono.
The recordings are on two discs with one side pressed and the other unused on both discs. Both have white labels with the details written in ink with stamper numbers. The reference number for both is LL 1271. The stamper numbers are ARL 2617 1A for concerto No.5 and ARL 2616 2A for Concerto No.4.
Both discs are in excellent condition with a very small number of non sounding scuffs and minimal surface noise. The cover is also in excellent condition with a few marks on the rear. The performance and sound is superb.
