Description
Lyrita stereo LPs x 4 of vocal and choral music by Gerald Finzi. The first two discs feature a rare appearance as pianist by the well-known composer Howard Ferguson, who was an intimate of Finzi and completed Finzi’s tone poem ‘The Fall Of The Leaf’ for publication after Finzi’s death.

NM/E- (slight creasing to RH corners of sleeve). Insert NM. SRCS 51 (1971) More Thomas Hardy : A Young Man’s Exhortation/Earth & Air & Rain. Neil Jenkins (tenor)/Case/Ferguson. With original libretto insert. NM/E+. Insert NM. The sleeve does not have anything printed on the spine (composer/title/cat.no.) — presumably a factory error. SRCS 75 (1975) Intimations of Immortality with Ian Partridge (tenor)/Guildford Philharmonic Choir & Orchestra conducted by Vernon Handley. E/E- (a few small marks on rear cover). Insert NM. The only appearance of the Guildford Philharmonic on disc other than the Revolution Records Bax items? SRCS 93 (1979) Songs with orchestra : Let Us Garlands Bring/Two Milton Sonnets/Farewell To Arms/In Terra Pax. Jane Manning (soprano)/John Noble (bar.)/Partridge/Case/John Alldis Choir/NPO/Handley. E- (disc looks fine but a few spindle runs on the label)/E- (fading on rear of sleeve and a Record & Tape Exchange price sticker on the front). Insert NM.
