Originally released in 1975, Remember My Song has a reputation among crate diggers as a cult classic... one of the greatest albums that only a select few seems to have heard. But among those who have heard it, DJ's and producers have made enormous amounts of money reconfiguring these songs into massive hits. Production geniuses like Dr. Dre and RZA have drawn inspiration from these incredible sounds and samples from the record are scattered across songs that have become classic in their own right, like Jay Z's "Streets is Watching" and Eminem's "My Name Is." This album a musical education.
Siffre is simply one of my favorite songwriters, found here with the phenomenal backing of Chas N Dave and arrangements by Big Jim Sullivan (Walker Brothers, Serge Gainsbourg, Zappa). One of the most sonically astounding and lyrically mindblowing albums I've ever heard and, thanks to Vinyl Me Please, it's never looked or sounded better. No expense was spared for this high quality 45th anniversary pressing with heavy weight 180 gram colored vinyl... but only 500 copies exist.
Kept in outstanding condition by original owner. This copy looks and plays like new.
