Led Zeppelin I

1st red/plum pressing with the very rare SUPERHYPE credits

 

  • UK orig Plum/red Atlantic labels in excellent condition.

 

·        Rare Led Zeppelin 1 LP with Plum/Red Label

 

·        First UK Pressing - made in Great Britain

 

·        Atlantic 1969 release 588171

 

·        Earliest label format with “Under licence” text above the horizontal stripe

 

·        “Superhype” credits on both side 1 and side 2 labels.

 

·        Labels are in excellent condition.

 

·        Vinyl-thick press with excellent surfaces and lovely sheen. Just a few very light hairlines detected if angled toward the light.

 

·        Complete with original polylined patented inner sleeve in excellent condition.

 

·        Single laminated sleeve in excellent condition – has the orange Led Zeppelin text on the front – the one immediately after the turquoise. The cover was printed by MacNeil Press Ltd and has the cat no 588171 printed on the back and spine and is in excellent condition. It has the tell tale grey stripe at the bottom that you see with the first pressings and carries the cat no. 588171 i.e. the no. that matches the cat no. on the LP indicating that they are original. Note this is not the turquoise lettered version which can fetch up to £600 but is an orange lettered version which is still a rare and very collectable item.

 

·        A1/B1 588171 matrices. Each side has the 8 crossed out and replaced with a hand written 8 which apparently is a sign of a very first pressing. Run off is also stamped with the numbers 1 2 on side one and 18 9 on side two if this means anything to anyone
