Description

An original 2nd press of Zep II on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A6/B4. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an early light-brown cover printed by Ernest J Day. Also included is an original 'plastic bag warning' inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine an 100% original.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) A superb slab of vinyl and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a few marks either side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Big bold audio with good transparency - exactly what red & plum are known to deliver. Interference is minor and infrequent. All we could detect a touch of light static in a couple of tracks [first on each side] and then a few light ticks in 'Ramble'. Even this is very minor and in no way detracts from what is a great rendition that more than does this Zep classic justice.
Cover (Ex-) Zep II covers are famously difficult to find in decent condition. This example has survived the years much better than most. The front is free of the usual ageing and with only light signs of handling and that mark showing in the title. Slightly more handling wear noticeable on the rear, but still in great condition. The interior is immaculate. Edge wear is reasonably light, but for a bit of feathering at the opening. Some of the text on the spine is still legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies totally flat. A very fine example indeed.
Inner (Vg+) Bit of ageing. No splits or markings.
