ORIGINAL 1971 PLUM RED ULTRA RARE UK PRESSING 

LABEL PRESS DETAILS:

Plum Red Atlantic Deluxe – 2401012, with the four symbols in the top half of the red label along with the text- LED ZEPPELIN. There is no Executive Producer text on this early pressing.

Deluxe 2401012 - Stereo - ATLANTIC, MADE IN GT BRITAIN.

One anomaly is  found on the first side's matrix numbers, instead of the correct, "- A - 3", it ended with "- B - 1"! This was spotted as well and where Atlantic determined to get these  few records out and sold! That ending was over stamped with 'XX' and the correct ending "- A - 3" was stamped to the immediate right, you can still just about see the incorrect stamping. This matrix is only on the very first records made, most likely even before the later stickered copies.

"Four Symbols" spent an amazing 57 weeks in the UK charts. The green & orange label pressing's would far outsell the red and maroon colour early pressing's. The Plum label variants were only available for 12 of the 57 weeks, during which time Atlantic prepared to launch their new labels and the new catalogue numbers.

Label changes usually took place incrementally, with a necessary cross over period needed to bridge the change of the records and covers already in record shops, taking into account the most recent releases that were still selling.

The classic Plum label design was changed by Atlantic to a green & orange colour in March, 1972, when the second pressings of "4 Symbols" were made, with a new catalogue number, 'K 5008,' replacing the first issue's 'De Luxe 2401 012.'

VINYL GRADING:EX

LOOKS TO BE HARDLY PLAYED IF AT ALL.

WILL NEED A CLEAN . It has been stored so a little dusty , I will NOT clean vinyl as I don't have the correct machine to do it and I believe with a good clean this vinyl will be about as good as is available.

I HAVE GIVEN IT A LIGHT WIPE JUST TO PLAY IT AND THE SOUND IS BEAUTIFUL .

No concerns whatsoever .

THIS SLEEVE HAS VERY LITTLE WEAR TO CORNERS . I HAVE PICTURED FOR REFENCE. VERY NICE EXAMPLE. I HAVE PHOTOGRAPHED THE CORNERS IN HIGH LIGHT HOWEVER THE WEAR FOR DETAIL . Actually looks better to the bakes eye .

INNER: VG+

Has two very slight splits about 2/3 cms . Not noticeable and I have tried to picture .

NOW THESE INNER'S ARE HARDLY EVER FOUND IN GOOD CONDITION, ASIDE FROM THE ABOVE THIS ON IS VERY NICE INDEED.

    Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. 

    Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing. 

    Very Good+: The record has been played but has very few surface marks or light scratches. There is very little lessening of sound quality although might have occasional crackle hiss or pop. The cover and packaging might have some wear and / or creasing. 

    Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. 

    Good+: The record has been played many times, but despite many surface marks and light scratches there is very little lessening of sound quality although may have occasional crackles hiss or pop. The cover and contents suffer from some folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc... 

    Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc... 

    Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. 

    Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc.. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. 

    Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
