Description
Incredibly rare, withdrawn FIRST Japan issue of Led Zeppelin's first album. This version was withdrawn because of a major cover misprint. Original first releases are catalog# SMT1067 and the second and subsequent issues are all catalog# MT1067. This is the original SMT1067 as you can see in the photos.
Licensed by Atlantic Records, manufactured by Nippon Grammophon Co, Ltd and the sound quality on this record is amazing. Issued in a unique gatefold cover with Japanese liner notes and song lyrics printed (in English) inside the cover. Unfortunately, the company made a huge mistake when printing the back cover and put the wrong names with all the band members except for Jimmy Page. Of course they had to recall all the first issue copies they could and replace them with a newly corrected second issue cover.
This album has been in my personal collection for over 35 years. It has been played but I've owned a Linn Sondek LP12 turntable the entire time I've owned this album so its been well cared for. The cover is in very good shape but shows some age and has some light ring wear on the back. Please look at all the photos and let me know if you have any questions about this legendary album.

This is a fantastic find and is absolutely one of the rarest Led Zeppelin records out there. Sorry, no OBI with this one (I wish I had it!) but it is still an amazing item.
