Description

An original 1st issue of HOTH on UK Atlantic from 1973. Matrix A2/B2 - 1st cut. Etching "RL Sterling". Please note that the labels are 1st iteration. No perimeter text in the upper half of the label and NO mention of the Warners logo. Well worth going for the earlier copies - they were pressed a good bit heavier. The vinyl comes housed in an original matt gatefold cover printed on heavy card. We also have the original textured inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can make out a couple of very slight marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Really quiet intros and inbetweens and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. A super entertaining and impressive rendition - way above average copy ... period. HOTH has two incredibly fussy Zeppelin tracks 'Rain' and 'No QTR' - both are very difficult to find playing super clean. But this example is delivering a near perfect clean rendition through both. Now, don't be thinking that all copies can manage this - this is fairy unusual as these tracks are both long and very fussy. Basically, it's totally acing the whole lot - a very accomplished rendition. In fact, there's almost nothing negative to mention at all. It's one of the finest copies I've had the pleasure of spinning for quiet some time. Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex-) Front and rear surfaces look really good with minimal surface wear. Worth noting the cover retains excellent rigidity and there's just a touch of light fade running along the spine edge. The interior is looking super nice with no issues. Minimal signs of edge wear and sharp openings. The spine is in excellent order but has faded a little. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity in part thanks to the heavy card employed in manufacture.
Inner (Ex/Ex-) Usually found in poor condition this example has clearly been very carefully looked after. The ageing and foxing seems to have been almost totally avoided. No splits either. Very nice!
