An original 1st press of HOTH on USA Atlantic from 1973. Please note labels mention the original Atlantic address '1841 Broadway' - only 1st issues will have this. Note that Robert Ludwig's initials marked both sides in the deadwax [RL]. Matrix A/F. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. We also have the original and correct textured inner sleeve with the '1841 Broadway' address 'printed in the U.S.A.'. And if that weren't enough to get you interested.... we also have the original OBI strip with correct catalogue numbering on the rear. So, it's 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In great shape and clearly has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. By and large a clean player with evidence of just some light static crackle in a couple of moments. RAIN SONG plays pretty clean with a the odd crackle here and there. I would say the rendition is better than most you'd tend to find. Not perfect - but this a very fussy track. A touch of light static evident in the intro to 'Over The Hills' - relatively minor and no big deal. A fantastic and very enjoyable track all the same. No QTR - the other fussy track plays good too but there will some static audible in the quieter moments of this track. Overall a very impressive and enjoyable rendition. It would be difficult finding a much better preserved example.
Cover (Ex-) Looks in far better condition than you usually find. The most telling sign of light is the lack of surface wear apparent front and rear. They are clean, with a low-level shine, with a couple of tiny pin-pricks in the corner up toward the spine. PLEASE be aware that there is some creasing and small tear at the opening on the rear. This has been tape repaired successfully which has secured the damage and left it looking of only minor cosmetic importance. The interior is preserved in very nice condition - with only those tiny pin-pricks evident. Edge wear is pretty minor and the spine is in really excellent order with very little wear at all [a real rarity]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A tremendous specimen - for sure.
Inner (Ex) Don't think you'll find many examples looking this clean. Pretty much totally unaged. All I can make is one tiny blemish and a couple of pin-pricks. A beauty for sure.
SASH (Ex-) In great condition and unusual to find it intact like this. It is unaged with some creasing in places. But overall it is intact and complete, and wraps right round the entire LP. No markings or tears.
