Description

HOTH a 1st Issue from 1973 on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A3/B3. Etching 'RL Sterling'. There is No Warners logo in the label's perimeter text and it finishes below the white band. This all identifies the pressing as a 1st issue from shortly after release. The record comes housed in an original matt gatefold cover. Also included is the original textured inner sleeve. 100% complete & 100% original.
Vinyl (Ex) Remains in fantastic condition and has clearly seen only light use. It looks shiny like new and there's barely a single mark visible even under close inspection. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and in betweens are really quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity and very little interference. HOTH is a really tough test for record preservation as a lot of the material is low-key stuff and interference tends to stand out. This copy, however, is tremendously well preserved and has been very carefully looked after. Yes, there are a couple of light static crackles here and there in a couple of the quieter moments [e.g. No Quarter]. But these are only vaguely audible and pretty infrequent. Don't forget the quality audio on offer here - there are no other copies like these early ones. They were mastered and manufactured to much higher standards than later issues. The sound quality really is a treat to behold.
Cover (Ex) The original copies were not laminated..so if your copy is shiny..it's not the real McCoy! As the originals were not laminated it's that bit harder to find really nice copies. Well, look at the photos...this one fares much better than most. There's a touch of ring wear, but it is slight. Edge wear is pretty minimal and the cover retains much of its original rigidity. You'll struggle to better it....
Inner (Ex) Again, amazingly well preserved. Yes, there's one or two very light age spots - but these are only just visible. There's no ageing or markings as so often associated with these very early articles. No splits...!
