Description
An original 2nd Press of the Zeppelin Debut on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A1/B1. Please note labels are consistent with 2nd press - publishing credits are now showing 'Warner Bros.' The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue MacNeill cover. Please note 1st issue is determined by the orange lettering 'Zeppelin' and the grey stripe along the foot of the front cover. We also have a 'plastic bag warning' inner from the time. So, 100% original and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In great condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side - nothing particularly heavy though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Even in those quiet, slow-build moments, the audio is clear and unaffected. Interference is, thankfully, both minimal and infrequent. All we detected was a few crackles in the odd isolated moment. The only deviation from the above grading is a brief jump in 'You Shook Me'. It occurs in one of the repetitions of 'You Know You Shook Me...' and it effectively eliminates the words [know you]. Providing you can live with that one aberration you are going to take delivery of some top-level audio at a very reasonable rice.
Cover (Vg+) In very nice shape and faring much better than many examples that surface. Front and back are relatively unaged and there's only a couple of creases evident. Please note there is a very slight ripple in the cover so it is reasonably flat, but not perfectly flat. Edge wear is pretty light for this title and the text on the spine is still legible. Overall the cover still retains very good rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing and no splits.
