Description

An original Zep II on UK Red & Pllum Atlantic from Q4 1971. Matrix A5/B4. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original darker brown E J Day cover - correct for the period. Also included is the original plastic bag warning inner sleeve date coded to Sep 1971 [9/71]. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with two minor deviations. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. By and large a bang-on performance... Power and authority, with clean delivery in most sections. Interference is very minor and infrequent. The only vague deviation is that there's a few crackles during lower-key moments in "Moby Dick", and then again in the intro to 'Bring It On Home' [which is very difficult to find playing totally clean]. An accomplished rendition which is all the more impressive considering it's from way back in '71.
Cover (Vg+) A very nice clean looking front - certainly better than many that surface. There's a touch of ageing at the spine, but other than that mostly free of it. The rear is exhibiting a bit of the handling wear you tend to find..not too bad on the whole though. The interior looks immaculate - no issues. Edge wear is relatively light and the openings still sharp. The spine looks very nice with text legible - just a touch of ageing. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) very little ageing. No splits.
