Description
*I am currently selling a collection of Heavy Metal and rock LPs, predominantly from the late 70’s to the early 90’s but with the odd outlier thrown in. All well looked after and some real rarities. I combine shipping and always remove the vinyl from the sleeve before packing and posting. Where anything other than a generic white inner is present, the vinyl is always placed in a brand new white inner to preserve the original. Brand new ‘clear glass’ plastic sleeves are added to all LPs. I describe items accurately as I know how disappointing it is to receive a much anticipated record where flaws have been glossed over or gone unmentioned. I try to listen to each record before describing it but if I don’t have time I will listen to selected parts to gauge the level of background noise and I will always listen to any passages where there are surface marks to judge the impact these have. I always give positive feedback after payment so the customer is able to give feedback purely judged on the service once they have received the item. An attractive copy of the iconic second offering from Led Zeppelin.
The sleeve on this copy - original lighter brown gatefold - is in nice shape. Often found terribly worn, this copy retains a good level of vibrancy and a lovely clear spine - easily a VG grading.
The original inner sleeve is also in great condition showing some discolouration from its 50 year life span, with the date stamp of 09/70 clearly visible.
I have played the vinyl a few times and there are no skips or jumps to report. Some parts play with a beautiful clarity whereas other offer some background static and some pops here and there, notably during the quieter sections of Heartbreaker. Visually there are plenty of hairlines and a number of more visible marks but it holds up well and overall offers a good listening experience - a definite VG vinyl. The labels are nice and clean, retaining the classic orange and plum colours with pleasing clarity.

John Paul Jones credited as ‘Baldwin’ (his real name!) on Moby Dick and Heartbreaker but as ‘Jones’ on Whole Lotta Love.
