Led Zeppelin II Lp Original "RL SS" Pressing Both sides - Monarch.
So this is the "Hot Mix" version of the record. Meaning the bass is much heavier on these Robert Ludwig pressings than later ones. The record company was getting reports that needles were jumping out of the grooves from the heavy-osity of the bass. Of course, that's ridiculous. It just sounds much better than later mastering jobs.
Record - VG+. It plays the majority of the time at strong VG++ but there is some occasional crackle and background noise in the quieter parts and there are lines on the record. A really enjoyable listen.
Cover - Fair. It's got typical strange writing, names and stuff on it. Teenagers!! Whatever. Covers are easy to find for this record, it's the "RL" that's the tough part.
About the "Monarch". Atlantic used many pressing plants. IMO Monarch is the best. It's got the "MR" in the circle on both sides.
