Description
Offered for sale is an original U.S. pressing of Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin on Atlantic Records (SD 8236) featuring the highly sought-after Robert Ludwig (RL) "Hot Mix" mastering.
This copy has the desirable RL (Robert Ludwig) and SS (Sterling Sound) etchings in the deadwax on both sides (RL/RL, SS/SS) along with matrix numbers ST-A-691671 and ST-A-691672, making it one of the most collectible pressings of this classic album.
Features:
Original Atlantic Records SD 8236
Green & Red Atlantic labels
Original gatefold cover
RL (Robert Ludwig) mastering on both sides
SS (Sterling Sound) etched on both sides
Matrix numbers ST-A-691671 / ST-A-691672
Condition:
Vinyl retains a nice overall gloss.
Several light surface marks and hairlines are present, along with a few more noticeable scratches (see photos).
I do not own a record player, so the record has not been play-tested.
The visible scratches do not feel deep to the touch, as my fingernail does not catch in the grooves, but playback cannot be guaranteed.
Gatefold jacket shows moderate shelf wear, corner wear, and some age-related discoloration/staining consistent with its age.
Please examine all photos carefully, as they are part of the description.
This is an excellent opportunity to own one of the most famous and best-sounding pressings of Led Zeppelin II, prized by collectors for Robert Ludwig's legendary "Hot Mix" mastering.
