Description
Here’s a rare copy of Led Zeppelin II. This is the very FIRST pressing of the album from 1969, which is known as the Robert Ludwig Loud Mix. The initials “RL” and “SS” are in the trailoff on both sides. Copies of this album were recalled off store shelves when complaints from buyers rolled in. The music was recorded so loudly onto the disc that cheaper record players of the day couldn’t track the grooves. But, when played on a mid to high end system, this record sounds absolutely awesome. The common pressings of this LP are compressed to death and the sound is muffled. The disc grades VG. It plays with some crackle in soft passages of the music, and in the loud passages… those are very LOUD and all that can be heard is the music. The cover has a fair amount of edge wear, also some old tape residue and a couple tiny pen marks on the back. It’s on the Atlantic label, number SD 8236. Nice copy!
