Up for your consideration here is a VG+ copy of the fabled RL'Hot Mix' of Led Zeppelin II Atlantic SD8236.Vinyl has a few extremely light,insignificant hairlines that do not affect the listening experience of this epic.Gatefold cover is sturdy w/minor edge wear. If you have never heard this version of this album, you owe it to yourself to consider putting your best bid forward on it. Ever seen the old maxell ad where the guy is sitting in front of his stereo with his hair blowing back..? A very similar thing happens listening to this ..A little background on this LP for the uninitiated..When this album first came out in 1969, the first pressings were giving record buyers with,shall we say- cheaper made turntables,some trouble.The needle would jump all over the record and the buyer would return the record assuming it was defective. The problem was not the vinyl. Robert Ludwig's mastering process was extremely powerful-these records basically destroyed lesser stereo systems..Because of this,Atlantic ordered a repress with a tamer mastering of the album,making the first press RL 'Hot Mix' versions (Identified by the RL/SS hand etched in the deadwax area on both sides of the LP ) highly collectable and sought after by audiophiles and plain old, true music lovers for the sonic firestorm it creates when played on higher end stereo systems. I can honestly say it is one of the best sounding albums I've personally ever heard.This LP is a must have addition to any serious vinyl collection.Your ears will never hear the same after hearing it-Thanks For Looking and Good Luck if you decide to bid!
