Description

I will attempt to describe the condition - the most important part of any bid - as best I can. If you have any questions, no matter how intricate or random don't hesitate to ask. This record has had only one owner. It is still in the original laminate record cover.

VERY RARE

LED ZEPPELIN III

Original 1ST PRESS Vinyl LP

'Peter Grant Executive Producer'

Non-hyphenated catalogue number 2401002 on labels

RED / PLUM Labels

Original E. J. Day & Co Sleeve with Working Wheel

Inscribed in the dead wax:

Side one - "Do what thou wilt" 2401002 A-5

Side two - "So mote it be" 2401002 B-5

The Cover I would grade at EX-. Its does not have any marks or splits to the cover. As you can see from the pictures there is slight discolouring to the front and back of the cover but it is not quite as bad as it looks in the photo. It's literally just the fine edges. The spine, although not pictured is also in amazing condition. The whiteness has kept very well over the years too. The inner sleeve is not the original but I have replaced it with a better circular anti-static sleeve that keeps it well from dust - on the recommendation of a dealer.
The Vinyl itself I would grade as VG+ on both sides. As you can see from the pictures there are no big scratches on the vinyl. In fact luckily there is nothing that affects play in the obvious major ways such as the skips or pops, which can frustrate anyone even if it's just once throughout. There are however fine hairline scratches, a sign of the wear and the amount of plays it's had on both sides. Not a lot of hairline scratches but only visible when seen under strong lighting. This doesn't affect the play in the forementioned way but it can mean some surface noise between a few tracks and silences (in fact the record is in EX condition apart from where this happens on tracks 1 & 2 on side 1 and track 1 on side 2). It doesn't happen often though and as I listen to it now I am in fact quite gutted that I'm in a position where I have to sell this. It plays very vibrantly and sounds great, it should sound even greater on a good system (I tested it in on a poor record player) or even after a professional clean. The labels only have the slightest spindle marks and are not the 'scribbly' type that effect the look - they are only noticeable under light.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. If you are from outside of the UK please email me as to where you are from before bidding so I can calculate the postage cost. Good Luck!
