Description
A very rare vinyl record with the credit “Executive Producer: Peter Grant” present on the label, and just the publishing credit to Kinney Music Ltd minus the credit to Superhype Music Inc.
IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ: This vinyl sadly has a minor pressing fault which affects the first song on both sides of the record, and partially affects the second song on each side (though the fault is much quieter by this point and disappears by the end of each song). Whilst the affected songs still play and can be heard just fine, there is also a minor intermittent “static/fuzz” sound present at the same time as the song in the background (a bit like old TV’s used to make when not tuned in to a channel). It starts at its loudest at the start of each side of the vinyl, and gradually gets quieter as the record plays.
I have played this record on several decks & I have noticed that the fault is definitely less noticeable on better quality decks with separate amps & speakers, and the fault was most noticeable on integrated decks with amp and speakers all-in-one. I don’t know why this was the case, but it is something I also wanted to mention.
Despite the pressing error, this is a great collectors item, and really should be viewed as such for the credit to Peter Grant on the label. These were the second version of the label variations to be produced (The first version being identical except for an inverted feather on side 2). There are not many of these around, as ‘allegedly’ Jimmy Page was furious about the credit and hastily had them removed with stickers prior to new labels being produced!
The condition of this vinyl is: * Good/Fair
The vinyl itself has some small scratches and a couple of larger ones, but is actually in great condition for the age. The gatefold cover has a tear to the top corner and a partial split along the bottom edge which I have photographed, and the sleeve/insert is partially torn through the bottom, so overall I’m listing the Vinyl & Sleeve combined as being in Good/Fair condition.
[Note: ‘DPD Local’ or collection only offered on this vinyl. I am not offering Royal Mail Second Class Signed For. If other vinyl is purchased alongside this record, then only ‘DPD Local or collection will be available]
Please see pictures of vinyl and sleeve, and read the condition description below. Vinyl’s A Side & B Side / Track listing for LP’s will be visible in the pictures.
Condition Description:
* New - Unplayed. Vinyl and sleeve both in brilliant condition. May or may not have the wrapper around the sleeve, and may or may not have a sealed plastic wallet due to how it was purchased (e.g RSD release etc) or simply to photograph the coloured/unique vinyl itself (e.g limited colour/RSD release etc). [Please note: Even if a vinyl/sleeve has a small imperfection in some way, but is a new vinyl, then it will still be listed as “New”]
* Excellent - Vinyl and sleeve both in great condition with no obvious visible scratches /blemishes etc.
* Good - Vinyl and/or sleeve may have some imperfections, such as blemishes in production (e.g colour defect spots), minor scratches, edges of sleeve showing minor wear/small tears etc.
* Fair - Vinyl and/or sleeve may have some imperfections/wear, and would also have at least one major scratch/or damage to the sleeve (e.g significant tatty edges/tears or unglued edge etc).
- Poor - Vinyl and sleeve will show many signs of use and lack of general care, e.g scratches all over and sleeve blemished/torn etc.
Selling a lot of my record collection so please have a look at my other items. Please request a total/invoice after winning multiple auctions, as I will not be able to modify/combine shipping for multiple purchases without you making this request. Where possible I will always combine postage on multiple records purchased, but sometimes this is not always possible due to the size and weight increase, or if Royal Mail is chosen as the delivery option rather than ‘DPD Local’. U.K. bidders only please & will be sent via a) Royal Mail 2nd Class Signed For Service or b) DPD Local Next Day Courier Service (Recommended for multiple purchases as usually the price stays the same). I aim to dispatch within 2 working days, and Weekday dispatch & delivery only. Dispatch excludes Fridays, but not excluded for delivery if dispatched prior to a Friday. Payment required within 3 working days of winning bid. Thanks for looking!
