1st released in November 1971 - So, this classic title is now celebrating it's 50th Year anniversary. READ CAREFULLY!<<<<
An original 1st press of Zep IV on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A3/B3 - very 1st cut available. This label version/variation is early, but not the earliest. Please note that just because you see the inverted feather this doesn't make it the very very 1st iteration possible. Note the track 'Mountain Hop' exhibits as 'Top' - this is incorrect. The vinyl comes housed in an original cover with left panel glued shut. There's also an original 4 credit inner with exposed flipbacks. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and it's difficult to find early copies which have only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a few very slight marks per side, one superficial trail - but noting heavy or likely to impinge on the audio. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. The red and plum copies sound great - period...and this badboy is no slouch.  Upbeat numbers are delivered with energy and bags of low-level detail. But lets get critical for a moment and go straight to those THREE very tricky and popular acoustic tracks. STAIRWAY/EVERMORE/CALIFORNIA. Each of these tracks, for differing reasons, are terribly difficult to find playing clean. With a quiet back ground on the acoustic numbers - man, you are close to nirvana. All three play very nice and clean - much much cleaner that you typically find. 'Stairway' is particularly hard to find playing as clean as this. Nothing worse than a couple of crackles in a couple of spots per side. It's very unusual to manage this level of delivery - consistently. Overall a terrific little player and genuine 1st. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg) Not up to the standard of the vinyl, but acceptable none the less. Front looks good - no issues really. The rear is fine, but expect a touch of grubbiness in a couple of spots, a sticker removal mark top middle, and "No.4" written extreme top right. The interior looks great - no issues. Expect a fair bit of edge wear. It has worn through in places on the bottom edge [right panel]. I have tape repaired internally so it is merely a cosmetic issue now. The spine looks fine with a good bit of wear. 
Inner (Vg+) A one inch bottom edge split [taped up]. Otherwise excellent condition.
