When this was first issued the production was credited incorrectly to Peter Grant on the labels of the UK pressings. As soon as Jimmy Page saw the first pressing with Grants name he demanded that it was corrected. The label agreed but still had a very small number of the mispressings in the factory. Rather than ditch them, Atlantic (or Polydor who were Atlantic's distrubutors at the time) stuck a couple of labels over the miscredits (see photos).
This make this one of the rarest of all Zep collectables. There are very few of these out there.
The record is in very good condition. It has a number of light surface marks - some just visible in daylight - but the sound is great throughout with only the lightes of crackle between tracks.
The labels featuring the stickers are excellent. There are spindle marks and some very light wear at the holes but generally they are fantastic.
The cover is in very good condition. It has a little corner wear but nothing of the edge wear this cover is usually so prone to.
The inner is the brown later edition inner. It is in good condition. There are a couple of splits to the edges. I've not seen one that doesn't suffer from this.
I am not a dealer but am finally getting rid of my vinyl collection, almost all of it first pressings including Stones, Beatles, Animals, Dylan, Byrds, Floyd, Zep, loads of krautrock and numerous UK Motown lps (mostly non-compilations). Keep a look out. I'll be listing them over the coming months as time permits.
