Well these are really a little bit special… I have 50 soviet flexi discs from the Russian Label BYA KOH. I can’t date them exactly as I’ve never found a reliable catalogue for their output, but they ran between 1989 and 2001 so they would have been produced during that time. In 10 years of importing music from Russia I’ve seen a handful of these come onto the market for bands of this caliber and they tend to fall into the hands of collectors pretty sharpish. I’ve never actually seen Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, David Bowie and Pink Floyd Examples in real life. So the million dollar question is: How do they sound? And the answer is, “Not great.” Imagine a flexi disk, then imagine it a bit crappier and you’ll be in the right neighborhood. These are not for lovers of high-fidelity music. They are for the collector who wants to have everything. They are for the mega fan who wants something in their collection that none of their friends have. All that being said, they are listenable mono versions of the songs. Important Notes: 1. These are VERY flimsy. Not sure how many plays you’ll get out of them, but I very rarely play my personal collection as I want them to last. 2. Do not expect high fidelity sound. They’re printed on film. 3. They are 5.5”. Some record players won’t go that far in. If you do want to play them then please check your record player is up to the job. 4. They run at 45rpm 5. Traditional grading doesn’t apply to these. The covers are folded bits of photocopied paper. The record is very flimsy. I suggest if you want more details, send me a message and I’ll take a better look at it for you. They look as good as they can to me, but happy to answer follow up questions. This is a rare opportunity to get some of the greatest songs, by the greatest bands and I doubt it will come along again any time soon. Well worth taking a look on eBay to try and find other examples of these bands on BYA KOH to demonstrate how seldom these come up for grabs.
