Description
Up for sale is a beautiful original 1979 US pressing of Led Zeppelin's final studio album, In Through the Out Door. This is a complete set featuring the iconic "blind" brown paper bag wrapper, the original inner sleeve, and the high-quality Swan Song vinyl.
Key Features for Collectors:
The Brown Bag: Includes the original brown paper outer sleeve with the "stamp" style title. This was originally designed to hide which of the six different cover versions was inside!
The "Magic" Inner Sleeve: Includes the original black and white inner sleeve. (Fun Fact: These were famously "watercolor" sleeves that would turn colors if touched with a damp cloth—this one remains in its original B&W state).
Matrix/Runout: Features the "STRAWBERRY" stamp in the dead wax, indicating the original mastering at Strawberry Mastering Studios. Label suffix "PR" indicates a Presswell pressing.
Condition Report
Vinyl (VG+ to EX): The wax has a high gloss with very minimal surface marks. Labels are clean with sharp colors and no spindle wear.
Cover (VG+): The jacket is crisp with sharp corners and a very legible spine. No splits or major ring wear.
Outer Brown Bag (VG): Shows some expected light edge wear and a small tear at the bottom (see photos), but is intact and serves as a great example of this unique packaging.
Inner Sleeve (VG+): Clean and free of major splits.
