Led Zeppelin One 1 I LP USA 1st Issue Nice Press [Vg+/Ex-]

An original 1st issue of Zep 1 on the USA Atlantic label. Please note there are 1st day copies on the purple/tan label which go for a fortune and are very difficult to get hold of. For us mere mortals - we are left to look for something that conforms to 1st issue from spring '69 whilst the album charted. Many early copies were pressed by Monarch or Presswell [like this example] and must mention the "1841 Broadway" address. And ideally, for Presswell,  you're looking for "A" stampers which denote the early copies [exhibited on both sides of this copy]. Other etchings...."LWP" which implies Longwear plating and "RG" for the masterer. The vinyl comes housed in an original cover which has only just been taken out of the shrinkwrap hence the impressive level of preservation. This is an original 60's pasted back image design. Note the large grey stripes that are apparent on the rear top and bottom. Also at the top of the spine is the orange 'Stereo' format - which you find on the earliest 60's copies where the format indicator was still required. Please note that copies coming six months after 1st release will have the gold certification sticker on the front. That was not apparent on the shrink wrap on this copy and suggests it is from earlier within the print run. The inner sleeve also seems to confirm a '69 pressing - the albums advertised are correct for 1969. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Vg+/Ex-) In very nice order and has only seen reasonably light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks - one semi-feelable mark does sound [details are below]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback with one deviation for side 1. Side 2 plays marginally better - mostly NEAR EXCELLENT with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with good clarity. Not clean enough to hit the top grades. But a very decent and addictive rendition all the same. Would suit someone who understands the authenticity of the item, but isn't super fussy. By and large a very nice rendition, but you will detect a bit of light static in places. It's usually in those slow low-key bluesy numbers. When the upbeat tracks kick in it doesn't feature. But it's nothing I'd describe as invasive, or anything that severely detracts from the listen. I happen to very much like it. The deviations are the mark mentioned above which causes 5-6 ticks in the intro to 'Dazed & Confused', and then 3-4 more ticks during 'How Many More Times'. In summary, a very nice player - just bear in mind it won't suit those who are super fussy.
Cover (Ex-) In fantastic condition and that shrinkwrap has kept it looking not far off new. Firstly, there's almost no signs of ageing front or back. Surface wear, which is common on these USA covers, is pretty much non-existent, but for some rubbing down at the foot on the front. There are no creases and the cover retains excellent rigidity thanks to the heavy card employed in manufacture. The spine is 100% intact with hardly any wear and all text legible. A really very impressive looking original early '69 copy.
Inner (Vg+) Lightly aged. But no splits.
