This is the original UK issue with the Swan Song picture labels, the die-cut Gothic Print Finishers sleeve with the red lettering on the spine and the 'Made In UK' label text, the satin lyric sleeve and the A-1 B-4 C-1 D-1 matrices of the very first presses....
  Led Zeppelin had been touring world wide for most of 1973 and they decided to take time out in 1974 to found their own record label and record a new album. They hired Headly Grange, Hants, during Jan to Feb to record and by the end of the sessions they had enough tracks to fill three sides of an album. They then decided to rework several earlier songs, such as 'Bron Y Aur & House Of The Holy' from earlier sessions. The mixing for the album took place in July, but problems with manufacturing of the sleeve held up the release until Feb 1975.  It went to no.1 in the UK and the US and became their best selling album!
  The Gothic Print Finishers Ltd matt die-cut sleeve is intact & in VG+ condition, with some light corner/edge wear and some light storage rubbing and a couple of creases on the windows of the outer cover. The spine is intact, faded and the red lettering is still readable & the picture inners are intact and in EX condition, as is the single fold satin finish lyric inner.    The records are in visually EX & VG+ condition, sides 1 & 2 have a couple of faint hairlines & one or two light needle marks/scuffs and sides 3 & 4 have a few more sleeve removal hairlines & several light needle marks visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with no evidence of spindle markings on sides 1 & 2 and one or two faint spindle markings on sides 3 & 4.   The sound reproduction is EX, clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some low background noise during the quiet intros & the run in grooves and a few low clicks between tracks 3 & 4 on side 3.
Overall, still a really great, loud & clear listen.   The matrix nos. are;
SSK-89400, A-1 mother stamper B-8, B-4 mother stamper A-3 & C-1 mother stamper A-16, D-1 mother stamper B-21. This is one of the early pressings of the original 1975 UK stereo 1st issue of this album!
 
  All records are checked on an Acoustic Research deck before being listed and any flaws noted in the listing, so if you have any problems with the record please contact me for a full refund of original price & postage on return of the record (no partial refunds), no quibbles, no problems!   All grades are those used in the Record Collector Guide.
  All lp's are sent in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the LP's!!   UK Signed For Postage is £4.50 for the first LP & is the same for up to four single LP's or two double LP's or more up to 2kg.
