Led Zeppelin IV…Led Zeppelin II…maybe even Houses of the Holy…these are the obvious places for the burgeoning Led Zeppelin fan to start, perhaps after hearing Stairway to Heaven; Rock and Roll; Whole Lotta Love, or Over the Hills and Far Away on the radio. But In My Time of Dying; The Rover; In the Light; Ten Years Gone; The Wanton Song…these are the kinds of crucial album cuts every major Led Zeppelin fan cherishes, and those are all found on Physical Graffiti. OK, this 1975 double-album also contains radio perennials like Kashmir; Trampled Under Foot, and Houses of the Holy; any way you look at it, Physical Graffiti is a sprawling journey through stomping blues, acoustic folk, heavy metal, Eastern accents…it’s the sound of a great band firing on all cylinders and having a blast every step of the way. Now, 40 years hence, this mid-career masterpiece returns on remastered double-CD or double-vinyl (180-gram, with an exact replica of the original sleeve). The 180-gram-vinyl or CD deluxe editions add alternate versions/mixes of Kashmir; In the Light; Houses of the Holy; Trampled Under Foot; In My Time of Dying; Sick Again, and Boogie with Stu. And for the biggest Led Zep fan you know: the super deluxe edition contains everything in the deluxe editions (both the vinyl and the CDs) plus a hardbound 96-page book full of rare and unseen photos and memorabilia and a high-quality print of the original album cover. A ’70s rock monument—enhanced, expanded and returned to glory! Atlantic/Swan Song.
