Description

Presence a 1st pressing on the UK Swan label from 1976. Matrix A2/B2. Etching 'Atlantic Studios' which identifies this copy as a true 1st pressing [along with the A1/B1 version]. The record comes housed in a 1st issue embossed cover. The embossed text was famously difficult to make out and the record company then tried several different cover variations in order to make the album title and band name stand out properly. The SWAN SONG logo is also embossed in the bottom left corner on the rear. Also included is the original textured inner sleeve printed in England with the SWAN SONG logo in colour. So, this a 100% original and 100% complete example of a very sought after album.
Vinyl (NM) Yes, this is one of those copies where all you can do is to stand back and marvel at it. It is in what appears to be mint condition. Shiny like the day it rolled off the press and has clearly only seen very minimal use. Under close inspection I cannot make out a single mark! A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a NEAR MINT level of playback. I shouldn't really need to remind anyone that this is very very unusual. Intros and inbetween are perfectly silent. The audio quality is absolutely stunning and there is not the faintest/merest hint of interference the whole way through. In reality the only way to improve on this would to be to find a sealed copy - and even that would only be a dead-heat under strict audio comparison. It really is that impressive.
Cover (Ex) These unlaminated covers are a real pain to find in anything approaching top condition, but this example really has been well cared for and totally belies it's 40 years of age. There are some faint signs of use, but by and large the cover remains almost entirely white with no noticeable defects. The text on the spine is all readable. Edge wear is very very light. The interior is pretty much perfect. Overall it retains perfect rigidity too. Nice!
Inner (Ex+) Absolutely minty all the way. No ageing at all - absolutely pristine.
