Description
A 1st press of Presence on the UK Swan label from 1976. Matrix A1/B2. The labels states 'Made in UK' - which verifies this as a 1976 1st issue. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold with the band name and album title embossed in the top-right. It is difficult to make out unless you look at the close-up shot. The record company were not happy about the lack of visibility and tried a number of variations on later reissues to remedy this. Only a true 1st issue is embossed in this way along with the swan song logo on the rear. Also included is the original textured inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has clearly only relatively light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a few light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity and precious little interference. All we could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments. Very little to find fault with from an audio perspective.
Cover (Vg+) Difficult to find in top condition, but this example is just a shade above the average copies that surface. It hasn't been affected by ageing too much, but there are a few light marks/blotches in the odd place front and back. The interior is in very nice condition with no major issues. Edge wear is moderately light and the text on the spine is still mostly legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) There's a 1 one inch side split and a bit of foxing.
