Original 1st US Atlantic Records pressing of Led Zeppelin’s fourth studio album released on November 8th, 1971. It’s impossible to find a factory sealed copy of this album. The front cover contains the original large ZOSO four symbol song title hype sticker with the “1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.” address and Atlantic Records fan logo. The 1st pressing four digit “SD 7208” catalog number is indicated below the fan logo. The same four-digit catalog number is located on the second hype sticker reading “Contains the Hit Singles Black Dog and Rock And Roll Over”. This is a very rare sticker combination as the majority of copies of this album have the yellow “Stairway To Heaven” sticker instead. This copy is the very early pressing and not the repressing with the 5-digit catalog number and “75 Rockefeller Plaza, N.Y. NY” address. Through the mouth of the cover one can see the 1st pressing raw textured matte light brown custom inner sleeve. Outstanding vintage Mint copy with the fully intact shrink wrap without any splits, tears or missing pieces and containing the original factory breathe holes, one on each side of the album.

Very early Atlantic Records pre-release promotional DJ radio station copy of Led Zeppelin’s fourth studio album. This DJ copy was shipped to radio stations several months, circa August-October 1971, before the album’s official release. 1st print gatefold cover contains a large black “ZOSO” song title hype sticker with the “1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y. 10023” address and a round orange “Promotional Copy Not For Sale” sticker. 1st print special promotional “Sample Copy Not For Sale” labels that also contain the “1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.” address and the catalog number SD 7208. The vinyl, just like the Near Mint cover, is also in great condition. It’s fantastic sound is not only justified by the excellent condition but also mostly, due to the outstanding prime cut mastering performed by George Peckham, who we also know by the nickname “Porky”. His etchings “Porky” on Side 1 and “Pecko Duck” on Side 2 can be found in the runout grooves of the vinyl. To me, this promotional copy’s sound is much more vivid and distinct than the one on the commercial copy. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - ST-A-712285-F PORKY AT/AT PR / Side 2 - ST-A-712286-C PECKO DUCK PR. This promotional DJ radio station copy comes with the original raw textured matte brown thick paper inner sleeve with the lyrics on one side and the track titles and credits on the other which include the fifth “ZOSO” symbol attributed to Sandy Denny.
