Description
Led Zeppelin iii Red/plum Peter Grant label A7/B5 VG/VG+. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class.
I’ve been collecting LPs since the early 70s for my own enjoyment, except for a “small gap”of 37yrs up until 2016 when I added a Rega P3 to my kit and got the vinyl out of dry storage. It BLOWS AWAY the CD sounds on my Roksan Caspian M2 player. Several very rare/interesting duplicate copies, mainly Led Zeppelin plum and red LPs will be sold throughout the summer.
Side one- Deadwax matrix 2401002 A7 1 1 4 GP?? (The mark of George Piros considered to be one of the best master disc producers)
Do what thou wilt
Side 2-2401002 B-5 1 2 1 1 GHC (Howard Craft of Mastercraft studios,Memphis again a top man)
So mote it be
VINYL GRADED UNDER INTENSE SUNLIGHT
Vinyl side 1- surface mark across track 1 to 4. Surface mark joining tracks 4&5, some fine whispy lines and a strange v faint surface lightening in a 200mm pattern like a window frame. Also appears on side 2 and rear of gatefold AND identically on another LZ3 A5/B5 gatefold I own. Production line fault ?? Definitely not a storage mark I’ve caused
Vinyl side 2-above mentioned fault, surface mark across tracks 2 and 3, middle of track 5. Few whispy marks elsewhere.
General vinyl clean and glossy grading VGood
Labels-a few spindle marks, especially side 2. Annie Paton written faintly on both sides, photo 3 (can’t remember her)
General label grading Good
Inner sleeve-probably not the original, must have got mixed up at a 70s party
Sleeve-small tear above top viewing bubble 13mm long and one at 7mm inside LH side top. Couple/a few of small laminate creases front and rear.
Corners and spine excellent
This is one of the very earliest half open top and bottom wheel covers (ie never glued) This helped the wheel to spin easier. Identical to one of my other early copies.
Wheel NMint
General cover grading VGood+
Audio- Much better than the vinyl description would lead you to imagine.
Several individual pops. Some repeat ticks from the main described marks but nothing annoying. It’s a 49 year old record but the music is excellent and vibrant and blows the backside off CDs and the latest vinyl re-masters!
I consider my description to be HONEST and fairly conservative but if you win and are not happy just return and I’ll donate to a local cancer charity to sell.
Good luck
