Up for auction is an extremely rare 1973 MONO promotional pressing of Led Zeppelin/Houses Of The Holy that I was fortunate enough to find a few years ago and am now ready to part with.. These mono issues were not available commercially and only pressed in very small numbers specifically for AM radio stations still broadcasting in monaural format. The pressing/issuing of these mono promos ended in May 1973 making this title one of last ones pressed in this format. This is one of the most coveted of all mono promos and is in fact considered to be the "Holy Grail" (pun intended) by many. For a 48 year old record the vinyl is exceptionally clean and is visually graded as EX. There are a few paper scuffs on both sides of the vinyl and a few inconspicuous hairlines. There is also one conspicuous mark on one of the sides approximately 1/4 of an inch that cannot be felt and doesn't affect play. The play grade of both sides is a solid EX and sounds fantastic in mono format. The cover is a solid EX with only minor shelf and corner wear. The incredible Hipgnosis artwork on the inside of the gatefold is practically flawless as well as the spine. This amazing copy also includes the original inner sleeve which is in EX condition apart from a fold in the middle. Not only would one be hard-pressed to find a mono promo copy of this lp at all but to find a copy in this condition would be next to impossible. (PLEASE SEE AND ZOOM IN ON PHOTOS).
